Former Gordon County Commission Chairman Her Husband Arrested In Child Abuse Case, GBI Says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A former Gordon County Commissioner and her husband have been arrested in a child abuse case, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Rebecca Hood, 50, and Scott Hood, 56, of Calhoun were booked into the Gordon County Jail Thursday. Each faces one count of cruelty to children, the GBI said.

In January 2021, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office was asked to investigate claims that the children had been physically and sexually abused.

Rebecca Hood, also known as Becky Hood, has served on the Gordon County Board of Commissioners for 16 years. He was the chairman of the board from 2015 to 2022.
