It’s getting cold, little chance of rain

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Cooler air will begin to filter into the region Friday as a cold front moves in. A few showers are possible. The best chance for rain will be on the west-facing mountain slopes, with a few reaching as far east as the Blue Ridge. Dry conditions are expected east of the mountains.

Any precipitation will be light Friday, with less than one-tenth of an inch expected in areas that receive rain.

Windy conditions are expected as the cold front moves through with gusts of 20 to 25 mph possible during the day. Wind speed decreases Friday evening.

Temperatures will start out warm on Friday with lows near 60. The afternoon will be slightly cooler but still well above average as temperatures climb into the 70s for most.

Temperatures will be cooler over the weekend with highs in the 60s. Temperatures return to the 70s next week. A few showers are possible Tuesday and Wednesday.
