One of Diddy’s accusers gets a November deadline to reveal his identity

One of the many people accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of murder has been ordered by a judge to reveal her identity by Nov. 13 or face having her case dismissed.

The Jane Doe in question — who now lives in Tennessee — Combs claimed sexually assaulted her and threatened his life at a Manhattan hotel in 2004 when he was 19.

On Reuters, Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil said that while the charges are “sensitive in nature,” Jane Doe did not justify why must she remain anonymous. Judge Vyskocil noted that the alleged victim is now an adult who “decided to file a lawsuit accusing a famous person of engaging in heinous conduct approximately 20 years ago.”

Doe’s legal team argued that the use of a pseudonym was necessary because of the sensitivity of the charges and the potential threat of “physical and mental injury”, adding that Combs’ violent behavior he even created the conditions” which guaranteed anonymity.

Judge Vyskocil dismissed naming the accusers who filed lawsuits under their own names, including Cassie and Dawn Richard. She also said Combs’ lawyers have a “right” to investigate Doe’s credibility, saying there is an “indisputable public interest” in identifying the Bad Boy Records founder’s accusers.

“The plaintiff’s interest in avoiding public controlor even embarrassment, does not outweigh the interests of both Combs and the public in the ordinary and constitutionally embedded presumption of openness in judicial proceedings,” Vyskocil wrote in his motion.

Tony Busbee and the rest of Doe’s legal team did not offer a statement on Vyskocil’s decision.

Combs’ trial is set for May 5, 2025.
