Traffic Scotland confirms the earlier scene of the two-vehicle crash on the A9 south of Inverness is now clear

The scene of an earlier two-vehicle crash on the A9 south of Inverness has been cleared, Traffic Scotland has confirmed.

The busy main road was restricted to the north following the accident near Daviot on Wednesday at around 16.40.

Emergency services were called to the scene following the accidentbut the road was never closed.

Two appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were sent from Inverness to help but were stopped just over 30 minutes after they arrived.

Traffic Scotland also advised caution among approaching drivers, but added that vehicles were still moving on the restricted northbound carriageway, while the southbound lanes were running smoothly.

And in an update just before 6.30pm, Traffic Scotland confirmed that traffic was back to normal and the incident had been cleared.

A spokesman said: “All lanes (are) now northbound following the earlier collision. Traffic is handling well in the area this evening.”

It is not known if anyone was injured.
