Wesham: Violator who sent victim apologetic text jailed

A man who raped a woman in her home and then texted a week later to apologize for what he had done has been jailed for more than seven years.

James Critchley, 31, from Wesham, Lancashire, raped the woman in her home in the early hours of January 28, 2021, Preston Crown Court heard.

“A week later he texted her to apologize for what he had done,” Lancashire Police said.

Crithcley, of Meadow Park, who denied rape, was jailed for seven years and eight months and given an indefinite restraining order preventing him from approaching the woman.
