CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) – A Carthage man has been sentenced to 750 years in prison for possession of child pornography, which prosecutors said is the longest sentence in Panola County history.

On Monday, Judge LeAnn Rafferty held a bench trial for Christopher James Williamson, 36, who was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Williamson was previously arrested on Feb. 6 on the 10 charges, with bail set at $500,000.

A statement from the District Attorney’s Office says a DPS special agent served as the lead investigator and claimed that out of the “dozens and dozens of cases he has investigated, this was by far the worst case he has ever seen “.

A nurse sexual assault examiner, who testified as an expert witness, said the victims were not only children under 18, they were all prepubescent.

Williamson was sentenced Tuesday to 75 years on each of the 10 charges. Due to a motion filed by the state, the sentences will run one after the other, the release states.
