DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — A man has been arrested and charged with illegal drug trafficking in Decatur, according to police.

In October, the Decatur Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit said it received complaints about the distribution of illegal narcotics in southwest Decatur.

DPD investigators have identified Jarvis Scruggs as a suspect. During the course of the investigation, investigators found probable cause to obtain a search warrant for his home.

On Oct. 28, investigators searched a home on Wimberly Drive SW, and the department said they made contact with Scruggs.

During the search, Scruggs was found in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. Investigators also found a firearm and an amount of US currency.

Scruggs was arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Morgan County Jail on $25,300 bond.
