In an Instagram story on Monday, Blake Lively revealed a beauty trick she once tried in high school that involves chili peppers.

Last night, the “Gossip Girl” alum shared behind-the-scenes photos at the CFDA Awards 2024 on her Instagram story, first posting a close-up of her glam beauty look and crediting her makeup artist, Carolina Gonzalez, for an encouraging trick.

“When @cgonzalezbeauty does the Gen Z eyeshadow lip trick to make your lips look huge…” Lively said, referring to a viral beauty trend that involves adding shadow around the lips instead of liner . In the bottom right corner of the image, the actress wrote: “But then…”

In the next image, Lively is seen without makeup, confessing to her own teenage DIY experiment.

“You wash off your makeup and accept that you’re a millennial girl who, in high school, wore lip gloss with alarming amounts of chili pepper in it because we were so into bad ideas,” she admitted.

“Apparently, eyeshadows are a lot less painful than Carolina Reapers,” Lively continued. “Thank you @cgonzalezbeauty for not turning my mouth into an episode of Hot Ones,” she added, referring to the talk show where celebrities are interviewed while eating extremely hot wings.

On Instagram, the makeup artist shared the full breakdown of Lively’s makeup, including the lip product she used to achieve her pout.

Lively paired her plump (and pain-free) lips with loose blonde curls, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Yepez.

Founder Blake Brown wore a white Michael Kors look at the fashion adventure hunt held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

Her stylish outfit consisted of a tailored blazer (which rested on her shoulders) and a ribbed bodysuit tucked into a sequined maxi skirt with a high slit.

Lively finished off the ensemble with Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewelry and Christian Louboutin heels.

No hot peppers in sight.
