Two pedestrians were struck, one fatally, in separate crashes on Long Island Monday night.

In Inwood, shortly after 11 p.m., a male pedestrian was struck by a 2004 Ford Explorer headed south on Sheridan Boulevard near Nassau Avenue, Nassau police said.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name is being withheld pending notification of the man’s family.

The teenager, of North Amityville, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital for treatment of critical injuries, Suffolk police said.

The car was impounded for a safety check.
