Joe Biden (remember him?) visited Arizona last week to make his first formal presidential apology to Native Americans for forcing so many thousands of their children into boarding schools in previous decades.

The timing and location of a Native American tribal reservation fit the Democratic campaign perfectly, given that Arizona is a swing state. Biden won it by less than 1 percentage point in 2020, and Native Americans, who are heavily Democratic, make up more than 5 percent of the state’s population.
