Black Ops 6 players report fake shadow bans amid claims Ricochet can’t tell who’s cheating

Black Ops 6 players were hit with shadow bans despite not using any cheats, asking the developers to fix the issue.

Black Ops 6 is finally live after a short beta period. As fans sang his praises, calling it “the best” CoD ever and gathering in a certain game mode Because of how amazing it is, the game is not without its problems.

One of these is how players have been shadow-banned despite not using any cheats, as the Anti-Cheat Police Department account pointed out via a post on X.

Claiming the situation to be “concerning”, they noted that it seems that Ricochet “can’t tell the difference between legitimate players and Cheating”, which led to these fake bans from them AI detection system.

And of course, just on X, when you search for “Black Ops 6 Shadow Banned” you’ll see a lot of posts from players who have experienced this issue.

“I’ve been shadow banned for no other reason than people reporting me en masse. Fix your game. I didn’t pay £70 for it!” he wrote a user by attaching an image informing them of the limited match and that their account is “not eligible for appeal”.

Many players in the comments claimed to have experienced the exact same thing – being left unable to play the game after being banned.

“I bought Black Ops 6 2 days ago. And I already banned shadow. And there is no way to appeal? I’m probably less than 10 hours into the game and now it’s unplayable.” he wrote another user.

As the platform continues to be flooded with complaints, the Anti-Cheat Police Department ended its post with: “Imagine paying $70 for a game and getting suspended for good performance! Many players are affected. What will Activision and Call of Duty do about this problem?” although they have yet to respond at the time of writing.
