Employee ownership heralds a new chapter for Shrewsbury Landscape Architects

The Shrewsbury practice, which traces its roots back almost half a century, has also appointed two new directors as part of a move that will ensure the firm’s long-term independence and allow it to continue to evolve and grow.

The 20-year-old practice has built a national reputation for its work across all sectors and scales, working with a wide variety of clients to deliver landmark projects, from Shrewsbury’s own Big Town Transformation Plan to Nine Elms of London, one of the largest urban regeneration projects in Europe. .

The practice is led by Paul Shirley Smith and he will continue his role in an expanded management team, a move he believes will enable the practice to flourish in an ever-changing market.

The new management team will consist of Paul and current finance director Becki Davies, alongside new directors Andrew Nicholson and Mark Dunn.

Michael Cruise, principal of Shrewsbury-based BCHN Architects and long-time friend and collaborator of Camlins, will become the independent chairman of the Camlins employee property trust.
