Trump says Harris is ‘running a campaign of demonization and hate’ in final message to Georgia voters

Former President Trump accused his 2024 rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, of running with a message of “hate” during a rally just over a week before Election Day.

Trump delivers his closing message to voters this week, spending Monday in key back-to-back battleground states.

“I’m running a campaign of solutions to save our country,” the former president said in Atlanta. “Kamala runs a campaign of demonization and hate. She really does, she’s a hater.”

It’s a shot against the Democratic vice president after he said Trump was “using the fuel of hatred and division” over his massive rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Kamala labels more than half the country as enemy combatants and calls them all fascists and Nazis. Okay, but she’s a fascist, okay. She’s a fascist,” Trump said.

At one point, the crowd erupted into chants of “Shut her up” directed at Harris, to whom Trump reprimanded, “Be nice.”

The former president rejected left-wing comparisons between his New York event and 20th-century German Nazis, arguing that the Harris campaign encourages such rhetoric and is to blame for the recent attempts on his life.

He hit back at Democrats who compared his Madison Square Garden rally to a Nazi event.

“I had a great father. Tough guy. He always used to say, “Never use the word Nazi, he never used that word.” and he said, “Never use the word Hitler, don’t use that word.” … And then I got it, and yet I use that word loosely,” Trump said. “I’m the opposite of a Nazi.”

“This is the kind of outrageous rhetoric that has led to two assassination attempts in the last three months.”

During the speech, Trump also made a direct appeal to Georgia voters to continue to participate early voting in personwhich runs from October 15th to November 1st in the Peach State.

“Boy, I hear we’re doing well, but I can’t watch. I don’t want to say that because I want to go on. We’ve got to finish,” Trump said. “We just have to focus.”

Both the Trump and Harris campaigns have poured enormous amounts of time, energy and resources in Georgia — which Republicans lost by less than 1% in the 2020 presidential race.

Those efforts seem to have paid off in voter enthusiasm, at least for now, with Georgia already breaking several early voting records.

More than 40 percent of active voters in Georgia voted absentee or early in person, according to the state’s election website.
