A woman has sadly died in a freak accident at an airfield while taking some photos.

The incident occurred at Cook Airfield in Derby, Kansas, UNITED STATES OF AMERICAand the woman was later identified as 37-year-old Amanda Gallagher.

Derby is known as the largest suburb of Wichita and is a city that is part of Sedgwick County.

Emergency services were called just before 3pm on Saturday (October 26) afternoon as Sedwick County dispatch received a report of a crash.

Gallagher was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital hospitalwhere he succumbed to his injuries.

After they intervened, authorities discovered that the woman was seriously injured after she turned into the propeller of an aircraft while taking photos of people boarding and disembarking.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, although in the meantime, Amanda’s loved ones have set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help raise funds. money which will help his family pay for the funeral costs.

Page organizer Abbey Charboneau shared a heartfelt message about her late friend following the tragedy news of her untimely passing.

“Amanda Gallagher was gentle, adventurous, creative and beautiful inside and out. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed,” she wrote.

Charboneau continued: “On October 26th, Amanda passed away in a very sad accident while doing what she loved, skydiving and taking pictures!

“As her family works through this tragic accident, they could use your help to cover funeral expenses. Please consider helping them and keep them all in your prayers,” she added.

Following the breaking news, Cook Airfield reached out to their official Facebook page to issue a statement on the matter.

They wrote: “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young lady who died yesterday following a tragic plane propeller accident at Cook Airfield. I wasn’t there when it happened, so I won’t speculate on what could or should have happened differently.

“Just please keep her family, her friends and her Air Capital Drop Zone family in your prayers and thoughts,” they concluded on the matter.

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe page has raised just $6,000 (£4,625) of its $12,000 (£9,250) goal.
