Man with pending criminal case accused of criminal wrongdoing, violation | News

A man who has a pending drug and criminal misdemeanor case from earlier this year was charged Monday with misdemeanor and criminal mischief.

Cristobal Frank Quintanilla, 37, also known as “Bobak” or “Bobat”, used a screwdriver to pry open the window of a house in SÃ¥nta Rita-Sumai and, when confronted by a resident, said he was just looking for someone in the house, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in Superior Court.

At 5:45 a.m. on July 7, a woman heard banging on the window and went to investigate. She found Quintanilla sitting on a laundry sink on a porch outside the window, and he told her he was looking for two people. When he was informed that they were not there, he left.

The woman later reviewed surveillance footage with police and they saw Quintanilla open the window. A window screen in the kitchen was also broken and a sliding portion of a window was removed, the complaint states.

Officers were unable to locate Quintanilla at his home.

On Sunday, police stopped a car with expired registration and identified Quintanilla as the passenger. He told officers he smoked meth the morning of July 7 and that the person he was looking for told him to open the window, the complaint states.

Quintanilla, who faces up to two years in prison if convicted of both charges, was being held on $1,000 bail.

Court records indicate he was charged in January with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and criminal mischief, both third-degree felonies, and disorderly conduct as a misdemeanor.

In that case, he was accused of throwing chairs and plastic pipes and pointing a gun at two people who were trying to get back a pressure washer.

When police arrived and searched Quintanilla, he was in possession of crystal methamphetamine, the complaint states.
