A Maryland state trooper has been arrested on suspicion of DUI after hitting another vehicle, according to Maryland State Police.

Lt. Duane Hill, who has been with the Department for nearly 20 years in the Human Resources Division, was arrested for alleged impaired driving, according to police.

On Oct. 26, around 1 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the area of ​​northbound Interstate 83 near Ruxton Road.

Officials reported that Hill, who was off duty at the time, was driving his personal vehicle on I-83 when he struck another vehicle.

The Maryland State Police has placed Lt. Hill on administrative leave with suspended pay.

No injuries were reported and this incident remains under investigation.
