HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — Vice Presidential nominee and Senator JD Vance is holding a town hall at the Rock Church in Harrisburg on Saturday night.

The main topic of the town hall is education, with the Trump campaign saying the Trump-Vance administration will “redouble” its commitment to ensuring that every child in Pennsylvania has “access to a top-notch education.”

“The majority of American children of any race are not receiving the quality of education in the United States of America,” Vance said. “It’s a national scandal.”

“Some of these public schools need to spend more on teachers and students and less on bureaucrats,” Vance said. “I’ve seen the statistics and when you look at the increase in school funding, very little of it has gone to students and very little of it has gone to teachers. Everything went to the administrators”.

“I think it takes a little bit of teachers, teachers unions and teacher union leadership, to have a moment to come to Jesus, no pun intended, and say to the American people, ‘yes, we were wrong.’

Vance talked about the ways in which he plans to change the current education system if he is elected vice president of the United States.

“One of the ways to solve this, I think, is to give scholarships, is to give vouchers, to every single parent, to every grandparent, who has taken care of a child, so that they can make the educational choice that makes the most sense for the family their”.
