WE HATE our neighbor’s bright pink ‘Real Life Barbie Dreamhouse’… it’s ‘disgusting’ and makes our street a laughing stock

The property of vibrant colors was announced on a Facebook The Council House Swap site that quickly racked up 7,600 likes and lots of mixed comments.

The three-bedroom house, in Essex, underwent a rosy renovation two years ago, causing polarizing opinions between neighbours.

The property has also drawn harsh criticism from some locals.

One resident, who asked not to be named, blasted the house: “Horrible. Disgusting. Horrible. Totally ridiculous.

“It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t want to live next door to her. Just because if you wanted to sell your house.

“Wouldn’t you? You couldn’t sell it.”

Hospital resident and volunteer Martin Ruck, 53, said: “Why pink bastards? Not many people like pink.

“Well, some people do – but not many, I don’t think.

“Did you also see the color of the car? Pink.”

Barry Renwick added: “Oh Chin. It’s a bit out of place for around here, isn’t it?

“When he first moved in, he painted his house pink. We thought ‘that’s a bit weird, a bit weird’.

I pimped out my above ground pool as it was the biggest blight on my garden and people can’t believe how good it looks

“Many people came from miles around just to have a look at the Pink House after it was on Facebook. She had meetings with the neighbors many times.”

However, he added: “But I let her deal with it. As long as it doesn’t bother me, it’s good.”

Despite causing a rosy smell to some residents of the street, the homeowner referred to by neighbors as “Barbie Girl” or “The Pink Lady”, has also received an outpouring of support for her creative endeavour.

June Harris, 62, has lived on the street for 42 years and has seen the Dreamhouse doll come to life.

She said: “I love it. It’s good what she did, I don’t mind. I always say that each of them, you know, can do whatever they want – good luck to her.

“You have to have balls to do something like that and she’s just being herself. I think it’s brilliant.”

Despite an increase in foot traffic to his road following the 2.2k shares on Facebook, Phil Young, 71, was another who didn’t seem to mind the pink explosion.

“Yeah, it’s pretty internet famous now – I’ve had worse neighbours.”

“And I can’t see the pink house – not where I’m from, so it doesn’t really bother me. I’m fine with that, it doesn’t bother me.”

Meanwhile, Paul Crozier, 71, said he didn’t like the house at first but has since changed his mind.

He said: “Initially when he was there – damn! It’s pink. But now I’m more used to it. She is a nice lady.

“She likes pink, too much for me opinion. It’s been there for a few years so I’m used to it now. Now it’s part of the way.”

The images attracted so much attention that the public housing group’s moderator had to disable the post, writing “I will have to disable commenting on the current post as people are focusing on the presentation and not the exchange.”

A TikTok by housinghorrors received 60.5k views in a week – which had plenty of comments praising her commitment, many supporting the fantastic plastic pad.

Responding to the viral video analyzing her home, she posted on Facebook: “My God, how did my house go by so fast!”

“Love it or hate it, but no need for nasty comments. Some people are just sad and bitter – I, on the other hand, am happy in my pink world.”

A spokesman for Chelmsford Housing Association said: “We want people to be happy to live in house and we’re delighted that Jamie Lee and her family love living in theirs.”
