Philadelphia police are determining if the weekend robberies are linked to the murder suspect

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Police are searching for the suspect behind several commercial robberies in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday.

Investigators are checking for the latest murders connected to a recent syndrophy.

Police say the most recent armed robberies happened at several locations, including the 5500 block of Tulip Street around 9 a.m., the Dunkin at 5001 Rising Sun Avenue around 11:30 a.m. and the Boston Market in the 6300 block of East Roosevelt Boulevard just after 4:00 p.m.

“It’s scary, sometimes I don’t like going out at night,” said Rodolfo Rodriguez, of Northeast Philadelphia.

Action News obtained surveillance video from inside the Boston market where a man brandishes a gun. The employee behind the counter empties the register. In all, about $500 was taken, according to employees, who say they were just robbed last week.

Saturday’s killings come a day after Philadelphia police detailed nine other recent robberies in the Northeast.

Police in Philadelphia are searching for a man they say is responsible for a string of armed robberies at businesses in the city.

Their search is on for the alleged serial robber.

At this time, police cannot confirm whether Saturday’s robberies are related, but residents say they have noticed an increase in crime.

“It’s kind of scary because it never happens,” Rodriguez said.
