Cabinet approves expansion of One Da To Metro Employees Phase Ii by Rs24 2 Crore

Hyderabad: The state cabinet approved on Saturday Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase II extension covering 76.4 km at a cost of Rs.24,269 crore in public private partnership (PPP) mode and payment of a DA to government employees which was due for a long time.

The new metro lines will be laid on Nagole-Shamshabad, Raidurgam-Kokapet, MGBS to Chandrayangutta, Miyapur-Patancheru and LB Nagar – Hayathnagar routes. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared and the same will be sent to the Center for approval.


The State Cabinet met under his chairmanship Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Saturday decided to complete the socio-economic and caste survey of all castes before November 30.

Briefing media persons after the meeting, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said it has been decided to build a road network of 16,000 to 17,000 km including new roads under the Panchayat Raj and Roads and Buildings departments. In this regard, it was decided that these works should be taken up in the 10 districts of erstwhile PPP regime, as it would cost 25,000 million lei to 28,000 million lei. A committee of engineers will be constituted to study the models adopted in other states and prepare a DPR, he said.

The revenue minister also said that the accumulation of silt in various reservoirs is one of the key agendas. A pilot project will be launched at the Kadem project and based on the outcome of this exercise, a similar exercise will be undertaken in other major and minor reservoirs, he said.

The Cabinet also approved handing over of Goshamahal police land for Osmania General Hospital, commencement of Grama Sabhas to identify beneficiaries of Indiramma Housing scheme, 211 acres for Mulugu Tribal University and sanctioning of ITIs associated with Sports University for Madhira, Vikarabad and Huzurnagar.

BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the questionnaire and modalities for conducting the caste-based socio-economic survey have already been prepared and approved by the cabinet. Soon after the survey is completed, the details will be placed in the public domain, he said.

Responding to questions about ‘political bombs’ for this Diwali, Srinivas Reddy said there are three days left for the festival.
