Two suspects arrested in two Indianapolis murders – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana traffic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police on Thursday arrested two suspects in two separate 2024 homicides, including a man accused of intentionally driving his car through a large group of people, hitting and killing one.

The first arrest took place early Thursday. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers found Joaquin Harmon-Segura, 19, in the 11500 block of Dunshire Drive and arrested him.

Harmon-Segura faces murder charges in March 28 death of Addam Hart, aged 25 years.

IMPD officers were called to a home in the 2200 block of Gable Drive, just southeast of I-70 and North Mitthoeffer Road to investigate a person shot. There, they found Hart suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died.

Hart’s mother told investigators that after she went to bed on March 28, she heard loud noises and saw dust falling into her room. She called her son to help, and he ran downstairs. He fell to the floor with a gunshot outside her bedroom door.

In May, IMPD arrested a juvenile girl for her role in the murder, who was later charged as an adult with aiding or abetting Hart’s murder. Savannah Allen16 at the time of the murder, told police he joined a group of people who shot up the Gable Drive home. Allen said the group talked about a person accused of sexual assault.

The second arrest came later Thursday when officers arrested 33-year-old Felipe Maguellal for a Fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred outside a west side bar.

According to police, just after midnight on Oct. 19, an argument broke out between Maguellal and another person at the Cheered Flag Tavern at 5725 W. Morris St., Bar patrons broke up the fight, and Maguellal was asked to leave.

After he left, Maguellal got into his SUV and “purposefully” drove his car through a crowd of people outside the bar. He punched 40-year-old Perry Banks, who was later pronounced dead at the scene, and ran from the bar. It was unclear if Banks and Maguellal knew each other.

Both men were booked into the Marion County Jail and were being held without bond. Both face preliminary charges of murder.
