October 26 — ARREST

A Falls woman was arrested after a shoplifting incident in the 800 block of Portage Road Thursday at 4:20 p.m. The 35-year-old woman was charged with theft. She is accused of taking more than $41 worth of merchandise without paying for the items.

ARREST

A Gasport man was arrested on drunken driving and other charges after police say he nearly hit a car while running a stop sign and then ran from officers in the 2700 block of Pierce Avenue, Thursday, at 21.00. The 28-year-old was charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign and speeding in the area.

THEFT

Police are investigating a theft in the 3800 block of Chase Road in Royalton. The victim told a Niagara County sheriff’s deputy that he noticed items missing from the front of his barn at 11 a.m. He estimated the value at $100 and said it was an ongoing problem. The deputy advised that the items be locked in the pole barn.

FRAUD

Police are investigating a case of fraud on the 400 block of Young Street in Wilson. The victim told a Niagara County sheriff’s deputy that a man asked her to send gift cards to repay $13,000 he said he deposited into her bank account. She didn’t, but she’s not sure if her personal information was compromised.

THEFT

Police are investigating a theft on the 2100 block of Transit Road in Newfane. The victim reported on Oct. 19 that items were missing from the driveway of a store she jointly owns. Total value is about $1,900.

ARREST

A woman was arrested after eating food and not paying for it at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at a business on Robinson Road in the Town of Lockport. The woman, whose age and address have not been released, is charged with theft. She is accused of drinking two cups of coffee and eating a honey bun worth a total of $4.56.
