Deeper conspiracy to ‘remove’ Kejriwal? BJP hits back after AAP leaders make allegations after attack

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed serious concern over what it calls a “deep-seated conspiracy to oust” its leader Arvind Kejriwal. These claims follow an alleged attack on Kejriwal during his ‘padyatra’ campaign in Vikaspuri, West Delhi. AAP leaders accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being behind the incident and warned that the BJP would be held responsible if any harm befell Kejriwal.

During a press conference on Saturday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that Kejriwal was attacked by “BJP goons” while campaigning in Vikaspuri. Singh said, “Police involvement in this incident shows a serious conspiracy to kill Kejriwal. BJP has become a threat to his life”.

Despite the attack, Singh confirmed that Arvind Kejriwal will continue his campaign as per schedule. He expressed concern about the lack of police action during the incident, suggesting it showed bias. “If the police had been neutral, this would not have happened. As far as we understand, the attackers are linked to the BJP’s youth wing,” he added.

When asked why no formal complaint was made to the police, Singh said it was the responsibility of the police to investigate the incident. “The police can acknowledge the incident and conduct their investigation,” he said, adding that the AAP is currently seeking legal advice on next steps.

BJP leaders dismissed the AAP’s claims, saying that Kejriwal was simply facing protests from locals unhappy about the supply of dirty water to their homes.

In response, Singh stressed that Kejriwal “will not stop or back down” in his efforts for the people of Delhi. He warned, “If anything happens to Kejriwal, BJP will be held responsible. Even if he gets a scratch, the people of Delhi will take revenge”.
