Police are appealing after an armed robber threatens a petrol station worker and demands money

Police are appealing for information after a gunman threatened a petrol station worker during a robbery in South Queensferry.

Officers said that at around 2.15pm on Friday, October 25, a man walked into a petrol station in Ferrymuir Gait before producing a gun and demanding money.

The male staff was uninjured and did not require medical attention.

The suspect is described as being between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in and of medium build.

He wore a black beanie hat with a gray brim, a gray snood covering his mouth and nose.

He was also wearing a brown coat with a fur collar and cuffs, blue jeans and white trainers.

He wore blue gloves with writing on the back of his left hand, carried a black backpack and spoke with a local accent.

Detective Sergeant Martin Smith said: “The member of staff was understandably shocked by what happened but thankfully was unhurt.

“CCTV review is a key part of this investigation and officers are working intensively through all available footage. If you have local CCTV or have been in the area and have dash cam footage please contact us as you may have captured something that can assist our investigation.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland 101citing incident number 2072 of October 25, 2024.

“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
