VINCENT – An incident at Warren High School this week resulted in a former student being charged with assault.

The incident happened Tuesday at approximately 5:30 p.m. and involved a male youth who lives in close proximity to the school who came onto the school field during football practice, according to Major Brian Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

“He was there and started yelling at some of the coaches and disrupting practice,” Rhodes said.

He said the minor punched a trainer in the face and other trainers restrained him and then released him after he calmed down.

“He (then) proceeded to hit a few coaches,” Rhodes said.

The child is not currently a student at Warren High School because he was expelled for a previous incident, according to Rhodes.

He did not provide additional information about the expulsion.

The incident with the minor was an isolated incident, according to Rhodes.

“There is no threat to schools” he said.

Three counts of assault against the minor have been forwarded to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office, according to Rhodes.
