Drug pick-up day for unused prescriptions Saturday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Saturday, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) plans to participate in the 27th annual Prescription Drug Takeover.

People with unused or unwanted prescription drugs can safely dispose of them at local drop-off points:

  • Colorado Springs Police Department Operations Center: 705 S Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
  • PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom VA Clinic: 3141 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
  • King Soopers: 7915 Constitution Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80951
  • Memorial Hospital North: 4050 Briargate Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80920
  • Widefield Parks and Rec: 755 Aspen Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80911

Locations will be open for Drug Take Back Day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

59 law enforcement agencies participate in the state of Colorado.

Medicine collection days are held twice a year – usually at the end of April and October.

In April, law enforcement across the country collected 335 tons of prescription drugs. In Colorado, law enforcement collected 10,017 pounds.
