Bagnaia unlocks new record as Martin and Marc Marquez suffer Q2 blow

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) secured an incredible pole position at the PT Grand Prix of Thailand, unleashing his full potential and recording an incredible 1:28.700. The No.1 set a stunning time on his final lap, claiming pole position as he prepares to start ahead of his team-mate Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team). ‘The Beast’ was 0.232s adrift and was the only other rider to break into the 1:28 range. Bastianini will start decisively in front Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), who held on to last place on the front row after suffering an accident in his last round.

Late injuries and lap records at Buriram

The MotoGP stars had one last chance to prepare for qualifying on Saturday morning with FP2 kicking off the day. Marc Marquez took the FP2 honors ahead Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing), setting the stage nicely for qualifying. At the closing moments of the session, Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP) made another mistake in Q2, crashing at Turn 3 while sitting in P4. Moments later, Bagnaia opened a lap in 1:28 when Martin crashed at Turn 5, quickly followed by teammate Morbidelli.

Marc Marquez holds on to P5

Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) found time, moving up to fourth on the grid as he prepares to drive on the second row. The Italian will start alongside Marc Marquez, who will start from 5th despite an injury at Turn 3. The Spaniard will be eyeing a return to the podium at the Chang International Circuit, but faces steep competition as Quartararo joins the 93rd from the second row after the Frenchman got the most out of his Yamaha – battling through Q1.

Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) will start from seventh, with the rookie continuing his impressive showing in Thailand. Acosta topped the Pierer Mobility grid and will start ahead of struggling Di Giannantonio, who starts from a solid eighth – just 0.735s adrift. Meanwhile, Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP) managed to secure the final spot on row three, setting a 1:29.527.

Further back, Morbidelli will start from 11thfinishing Q2 ahead Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) after both riders crashed in qualifying. Meanwhile, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder and Jack Miller they work in the early rounds, starting at 1 p.mth and 15th on the grid, ca Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) is also preparing for a tough task, starting from P14 after a difficult weekend so far in Thailand.
