Sign up for a tour where guides will walk you through how the world’s most important whiskey is made, along with interesting stories about the distillery’s founder, Mr. Jack. You can even check out Cave Spring Hollow, a natural spring that draws 800 gallons per minute from miles below the Earth’s surface and provides the 56-degree, iron-free water that makes Jack Daniel’s whiskey so good. Tours come with six uniques whiskey samples. You can also skip the tour and head straight to one of the distillery’s premiere tasting areas for a tasting of past and current special releases and innovative preferences.

Moore County Old Jail Museum

The old Moore County Jail in Lynchburg has been in operation for nearly 100 years.

Built in 1893, the Moore County Old Jail Museum is located just off the historic town square and was used as a jail until 1990. Today, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and houses historical clothing and artifacts. The oak and brick building also retains the two 8×8 prison cells that the inmates occupied. The museum is open from noon to 3pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and is closed on holidays. Admission is just $1 for adults and free for children under 16.

Lynchburg City Cemetery

After learning about Mr. Jack on a tour of the Jack Daniel Distillery, you can pay your respects to the whiskey legend at his final resting place in the Lynchburg City Cemetery. Two white wrought iron garden chairs sit on either side of his headstone for peaceful reflection. The cemetery also includes other notable individuals and families from the Lynchburg area, including football legend Johnny Majors.
