North Bay News: Man accused of threatening strangers with scissors

A 56-year-old North Bay man has been charged following an Oct. 21 incident in which two people were threatened with a sawed-off weapon.

Police were called to respond to the incidents, the first of which occurred in the 200 block of McIntyre Street East.

“The accused began walking down the street and threatened another victim in the area,” police said in a news release Friday.

“Officers located the accused in the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive where he was arrested and charged. The victims and the accused do not know each other.”

The man was searched and police found a pair of scissors.

Charges include assault with a weapon, possession of weapons and uttering threats.

The accused was remanded in custody pending a bail hearing at North Bay Magistrates’ Court.
