Honda feedback on WSBK test as 2025 plans grow | World Superbike

Xavi Vierge was the senior Honda rider in action at the World Superbike postseason test.

With Iker Lecuona injured, the duties fell to his teammate to complete the testing schedule.

Vierge completed 80 laps on Tuesday, then 86 laps on Wednesday, when his best time (1’39.438s) came.

Honda’s other presence at Jerez came through Tommy Bridewell (Honda Racing), Tarran Mackenzie (PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda) and test rider Tetsuta Nagashima.

“It was a very important two days for us,” Vierge said.

“We focused mainly on the electronics, doing a lot of back-to-back on the bike setup, and the suspension.

“It was very good because we had different track conditions. In the morning, it was so grippy as the temperature was quite fresh.

“During the day, it was very hot, so we can compare data from all conditions. It was really important.

“We’ve done a lot of laps trying all those things, and now the engineers will have a long winter to work on it to make the steps forward that we need.

“We focused on the pace of the race. We’ve improved a little bit there, which is important because the conditions are changing and it’s getting warmer, we’re fighting a little bit more. I think we’ve made some progress on that.”

Team manager Jose Escamez said: “We have collected a lot of data to prioritize what we really need, which we will analyze and understand over the winter and make decisions for 2025.

“It’s always a shame that we couldn’t have Iker while he was in surgery. In any case, we prioritized our needs and I think we gathered a lot of information.

“Xavi has done a lot of laps in these two days and I think it will be worth it to understand and work with all the concepts and work that we have planned.”
