A man has died in hospital after sustaining an injury in a quarry.

Emergency services were called to Langside Quarry in Kennoway, Fife, following reports of an injured man at the scene at around 9am. on October 17.

The 29-year-old was airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment but later died.

Police Scotland confirmed an investigation is ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called at around 9am on Thursday 17 October to a report of an injured man in a shop on Langside Road in Kennoway.

“A 29-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he later died.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive is aware.”
