Texas Children’s System is hiring 2 Chief Medical Officers

The chief medical officer of the two Texas Children’s Hospitals in Houston is set to retireand the system promoted two doctors to succeed him.

Stanley Spinner, MD, will retire as medical director and vice president of Texas Children’s Pediatrics on Jan. 18, according to an Oct. 24 news release from the system. Dr. Spinner has served in system leadership roles for 40 years, including chief medical officer for Texas Children’s Pediatrics and Texas Children’s Urgent Care, both based in Houston, for the past 13 years.

The roles of chief physician will be filled by two paediatricians.

Sapna Singh, MD, pediatrician, has been named medical director of Texas Children’s Pediatrics. Dr. Singh is also the medical director of physician engagement and wellness at Texas Children’s Pediatrics.

Terry Yen, MD, pediatrician, has been named medical director of Texas Children’s Urgent Care. Dr. Yen has served as the Medical Director of Texas Children’s Urgent Care since 2014.
