Warm sun to cooler clouds and a few showers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – We’re warming up more today with sunshine, with a cold front cooling us off this weekend with more clouds and a few showers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

It’s chilly again this morning as the humidity is lower so don’t forget a jacket! Coolers in the 30s to 40s for most of our area. Mostly clear with fog developing.

It’s a sunny and warmer Friday. Winds increase today with gusts around 15 mph out of the southwest. This also helps warm us to 80 degrees. Burning is discouraged because of this continuous dry pattern.

This evening brings a southwest wind of 5 to 10 mph and increasing scattered clouds and a scattered shower is possible. That leaves us warmer to start Saturday at 58 degrees.

Looking ahead

The cold front brings 15 mph gusts from the northwest, but only patchy showers slip through our area with additional clouds. Saturday brings light rain in the morning, then patchy rain midday to afternoon. It looks mostly cloudy and that all adds up to a cooler day around 71 degrees in Knoxville.

Sunday starts out somewhat clear, but some clouds do make their way back into our area at times. We will be cooler at 68 degrees with a light cool breeze. For all the local fall festivals, kids might want a warmer outfit.

We’ll have cool mornings to start next week, but those afternoons warm up quickly.

In your First Alert 8-Day Planner, we’ve gone back to the 70s for highs just in time for Halloween! No layers needed for that forecast for you in the free WVLT First Alert Weather app.
