Ithaca police arrested two people in a narcotics and weapons raid on E. Green St.

The Ithaca Police Department, with the support of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, executed a pre-dawn search warrant Thursday morning that led to the arrest of two people in connection with the sale of narcotics and illegal possession of weapons.

Taymel Harris, 28, a parole fugitive from Brooklyn, and Daquan Hopkins, 25, of Ithaca, were taken into custody at separate residences in the Asteri complex on E. Green Street. Officers allegedly recovered US currency and several illegally possessed firearms at both locations. After the arrests, Harris was transported to the Tompkins County Jail on his parole violation warrant.

Hopkins faces multiple charges, including second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony, and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both Class D felonies. He was arraigned in the District Court Ithaca.
