Dragon Ball Daima teases how big the demon realm really is

Dragon Ball Daima has finally taken its first steps into the Demon Realm, and the newest episode of the series teases just how big the place is. Demon Realm will actually be as Goku and Supreme Kai begin their new adventure. Dragon Ball Daima spent the first few episodes of his new anime making fans reunite with Goku and his friends after all this time, and each of them suddenly turned into children again thanks to Supreme Demon King Gomah making a wish for Dragon Balls. And after taking a Baby Dende hostage, Goku and Supreme Kai left for this new realm.

Dragon Ball has previously teased demons and the Demon Realm in the franchise’s past, but never fully ventured into this new territory as we now see in Dragon Ball Daima. With this new exploration of the Demon Realm, fans are also introduced to a realm that has been split into different worlds and probably a class system as they are all separate from each other. With three worlds within it, this realm is also far more complicated than Goku and the others might expect.

There are three demon worlds

Dragon Ball Daima continues to flesh out how the Demon Realm it works because while the premiere episode revealed how Gomah and Degesu were able to transform into the outside world, it’s further explained in the newest episode that traveling to the outside world requires more permissions. You also need a password to enter a gate from a certain point, and you can only travel to places you’ve been given permission from someone higher up in the hierarchy. Then it gets even more complicated with three main worlds introduced.

It is revealed that there are three main worlds in the Demon Realm and they are kept isolated from each other outside of the few who are allowed (and spaceship) to travel between them. The need for permission seems to be a newer addition, as Supreme Kai is completely taken aback by the need for a password to enter and the fact that they just can’t that directly into the First Demon World where they are Gomah. Instead, they must make their way through the Third Demon World. For some reason, the three worlds of the Demon Realm are more separated than they were in the past. Probably because of something that had happened before.

Why are the Demon Worlds kept separate?

Each of the Demon Worlds has yet to be fully revealed, but it is clear that the third Demon World is much different from the other two. The Supreme Kai’s race, Glind, is teased to have belonged to the second Demon World and it seems that they are very high on themselves. This stuck-up attitude seems to reflect the fact that they are in the second Demon World, and perhaps further emphasizes a class divide that stems from each of these worlds being kept so far apart from each other.

There is an active being that also keeps the worlds apart, as teased through the mysterious demon tunnel. It’s a path one could take to reach the First and Second Demon Worlds, and Supreme Kai explains that demons used to be able to travel freely between them. But until the youth, a shield of light had been placed over the path to prevent demons from using it. It means that only Warp gates (and their permissions) can be used to travel between worlds, so a former Demon King probably made this decision.

As fans learn more about the Demon Kings of the past, we’ll get to see more of how the Demon Realm got to its current state. He was separated for a reason and maybe Goku will help figure out why.
