TRIOA — A 38-year-old woman was cited for allegedly taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent Sunday morning in Troy.

Vermont State Police responded to a call at 6:43 a.m. from Kim Richardson, 68, of Troy, who reported her vehicle had been taken from her residence without permission.

An investigation identified Nicole Richardson, 38, also of Troy, as the suspect.

Authorities later found Nicole Richardson and the vehicle at an address in North Troy.

The vehicle was returned to Kim Richardson.

Police issued Nicole Richardson a summons to appear in Orleans County Criminal Division Court.

She is charged with driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

State police did not specify the relationship, if any, between the two women with the same last name.
