A Kansas City man has been charged nearly 3 years after a fatal Christmas shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Christmas Day 2021.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed Thursday, Nov. 21, revealed that Duron T. Carter Jr., 25, was charged with murder in connection with a fatal Christmas shooting.

Court records indicated that around 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2021, Carter was involved in the shooting death of Clifford Harris, 38, who was found dead inside a vehicle near Raytown Rd. and E. 47th St.

A preliminary investigation found that shots were fired from inside the vehicle Carter was in before he left the scene. As a result, Carter was charged with first-degree murder or accessory after the fact, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon or accessory.

As of Friday, Carter remains behind bars in Jackson County with no bond listed. An arrangement is expected to take place on Monday, December 2 at 2 p.m. No further information has been released.
