Jonathan Majors, Grace Jabbari Settle Defamation, Bullying Lawsuit

Monday after landing his first film role following a highly publicized trial and conviction for assault, Jonathan Majors settled a lawsuit filed by ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, who claimed he subjected her to extensive physical abuse.

Lawyers for both sides informed the court on Thursday of an agreement to settle the case. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, although Brittany Henderson, an attorney for Jabbari, said the lawsuit was “favorably settled.”

A representative for Majors did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In March, Jabbari sued the majors for assault, battery, malicious prosecution and defamation, which arose out of the actor’s denial that he abused the professional dancer and movement coach leading up to and after his conviction. In a lawsuit filed in New York federal court, she detailed multiple instances of alleged physical violence from 2021 to 2023.

This included an incident in 2022 when Majors allegedly “caught Grace in the air and threw her on the hood of the car” before threatening to kill her. “The majors then began slamming Grace’s head against the marble floor while choking her until she felt she could no longer breathe,” the complaint states.

Jabbari was discouraged from seeking medical treatment by Majors, who said via text message, “They’re going to ask you questions and because I don’t think you’re protecting us, it could lead to an investigation even if you’re lying and they suspect something,” he said the process.

The messages about the alleged incident emerged as part of Majors’ criminal trial (although any previous alleged incident was not discussed).

In June, Majors was tapped to star in a supernatural revenge thriller Ruthless from director Martin Villeneuve. The story, which is slated for a fall shoot, centers on a CIA investigator who is forced to defeat a malevolent force that has overtaken the woman he loves.
