Update: Delance Hatcher was sentenced to 65 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder, assault, criminal recklessness and armed robbery on June 3, 2023. Rashaana Farrow was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to to commit murder. Richard Garrett was found guilty of 23 offences, including murder, on October 29, 2024. He was later sentenced to 65 years in prison.

Marion County prosecutors have charged three people in connection with a shooting and robbery spree in October that left two dead and more than a dozen injured.

Richard Garrett, Delance Hatcher and Rashaana Farrow were charged Friday in connection with 13 violent incidents over seven days, including the Oct. 16 slaying of Devon Gillespie, District Attorney Ryan Mears said in a news release.

There were 18 casualties in total, including nine people who were shot.

Garrett was also charged with murder in the Oct. 17 fatal shooting of Anthony Mack.

The ride began Oct. 13 with an argument that led to shots fired at a gas station near 38th Street and Meadows Drive, according to a probable cause affidavit. The bullets struck a man’s car as he fled, prosecutors said.

On Oct. 16, prosecutors say Hatcher fired into a home and a vehicle in the 4000 block of North Meadows Drive. Later that day, prosecutors say Hatcher, Garrett and Farrow shot two people in the 3400 block of East 38th Street.

On the night of Oct. 16, prosecutors say the three suspects shot and killed Gillespie at an apartment complex in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court.

On Oct. 17, prosecutors say in the press release that “Garrett, Hatcher and Farrow participated in several shootings, including a road rage incident in the area of ​​Post Road and Pendleton Pike.”

Garrett was driving on Oct. 17 when prosecutors say he struck and killed Mack in the 3500 block of Tacoma Avenue. Garrett did not stop to help the victim or report the accident, prosecutors say.

The three suspects then stole a vehicle from a gas station in the 3400 block of North Sherman Avenue, prosecutors say.

Garrett and Farrow were also charged for their roles in a double shooting on Oct. 20, prosecutors say.

Hatcher was arrested on October 18. Garrett and Farrow were arrested in November for an unrelated incident in Hamilton County.

Garrett, 19, was charged with 19 felonies, including two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery. He also faces four misdemeanor gun charges.

Hatcher, 18, was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and 10 other felonies. He also faces three misdemeanor charges of carrying a weapon without a license.

Farrow, 19, was charged with 11 offences, including murder and conspiracy to commit murder. She also faces four misdemeanor charges of carrying a weapon without a license.
