Lagos Blue Line train resumes operations after fire incident

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, says the Blue Line has resumed operations after Saturday’s fire.

The Head, Corporate Communication, LAMATA, Kolawole Ojelabi, made this known on Sunday in Lagos.

Recall that on Saturday, fire destroyed a section of the Lagos Mass Rail Transport, LRMT, near the old NEPA station near Eko bridge around the Apongbon area of Lagos Island.

According to Ojelabi, the development disrupted operations on Saturday.

“Following the spark, the system isolated the section for investigators and engineers from the Independent Electric Power Station that were powering the train to trace the source of the fire.

“The CCTV camera along the section promptly alerted emergency personnel who triggered the emergency response process.

“None of the train’s passengers or workers were in danger following the fire incident.

“The train resumed operations this morning,” he said.
