Brandon Aubrey of the Dallas Cowboys can’t be slowed down; not even by law

It’s been quite a week for Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey.

Aubrey hasn’t practiced all week and appeared on the injury report on Wednesday, surprising Cowboys Nation. Aubrey was listed as “NIR” or “non-injury” and the reason had everyone giggling.

The team’s most consistent offensive weapon has been selected to serve on a 12-man jury in a felony case. So, he was barred from jury duty.

There were some questions about whether Aubrey would be able to play Sunday night, but the coaching staff was optimistic that jury duty would not affect his availability because the jurors did not have to be sequestered.

Aubrey went to work at night after his duties were done, and there was good news on Saturday.

When the team boarded the charter flight to the West Coast, Aubrey pulled up and was ready to fly with his teammates.

Last season, Aubrey was the NFL’s leading scorer with 157 points.

Entering Week 8, Aubrey ranks seventh in the NFL in scoring with 60 points through six games. Five of the six players ahead of him have played in one game before.

Auburey is 17-of-19 on field goals with a long of 65 yards this season and 9-of-9 on extra points.

Having Al on the field was crucial to the Cowboys’ offensive success.
