Karnataka High Court rejects anticipatory bail plea of ​​suspended Janta Dal (S) leader Prajwal Revanna in sexual assault case

The Karnataka High Court on Friday (November 22) rejected the anticipatory bail plea of ​​suspended Janta Dal (S) leader Prajwal Revanna, who was arrested on charges of rape and sexual assault.

A single bench of judges Justice M Nagaprassana as he pronounced the order he said, “Dismissed.”

The petition prayed that Revanna should be released on bail in the event of her arrest.

Revanna is charged with various offenses including sections 376(2)n IPC (commits repeated rape of the same woman), 376(2)k (rape while in a position of control or dominance over a woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), 354(a) (Sexual harassment), 354b (Assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to strip), 354c (Voyeurism) and Section 66E (Penalty for breach of privacy) of the Information Technology Act.

The sessions judge had earlier rejected Revanna’s bail plea in a similar FIR on June 12.
