The official, who is an expert in psychological assessment, interviewed Kalyani Singh, the main accused in the 2015 murder case, while she was in CBI custody for five days in June 2022.

The psychological expert, who is among the CBI’s prosecution witnesses, told the court that it was inferred after the interview that Kalyani appeared deceptive in her statements about her knowledge and involvement in the crime.

The official will be questioned further on November 28, the next hearing date.

Lawyer and national shooter Sukhmanpreet Singh, better known as Sippy Sidhu, was shot dead in a park in Sector 27 on September 20, 2015. His family accused Kalyani of killing him as they refused them marriage proposal.

Sippy was the nephew of late Justice SS Sidhu, a former judge of the Punjab and Haryana Supreme Court, and Kalyani is the daughter of retired Himachal Pradesh High Court judge Justice Sabina.

Kalyani was arrested in June 2022 and later charged with murder.

On May 5 this year, nine years after the murder, the CBI court ordered the day-to-day hearing of the case while framing charges against Kalyani, who is out on bail from September 2022.
