RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – The “Give a Phone-Save a Life” cell phone drive is open until the end of 2024. The drive supports victims of violent crime by giving them a reliable way to contact law enforcement in emergency situations. expedite.

The cell phone drive is a partnership between the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office Victim Assistance Program and 911 Mobile phone banking.

These cell phones could mean the difference between life and death.

“So it’s a relatively easy donation that people can make that can literally make the difference between life and death, and I’m not saying that by accident,” explained Katy Urban, Public Information Officer for the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office, “We “We made phone calls to a number of people in our community and heard from so many victims who said without that phone call they don’t think they would be alive today.”

Donation boxes are located at the Pennington County Administration Building, Public Safety Building and Rapid City Hall. They are looking for old mobile phones, old chargers and accessories.
