Two natives of Himachal Pradesh, who were arrested in connection with the death of a youth due to a suspected drug overdose, were produced before the court today and the judge sent them both to judicial custody.

The victim, Vikas (24 years old), had died at the boys’ hostel no. 7 of Panjab University on 19th November. His friends, Aryan Parbhat (21) from Kullu, a PU student; and Parikshit Kaushal (24) from Shimla, a former student of the university; were arrested on charges of manslaughter which is not murder.

According to the investigation, videos recovered from Parikshit’s mobile phone revealed that Vikas was lying unconscious since 3 am. He was taken to the hospital after the delay of about 7 hours.
