An Anchorage woman is facing multiple felony charges after she was accused of shooting at nearby homes and at police who responded to her Muldoon home earlier this week.

No one was injured when Lynda McRae fired multiple shots from her home Monday night, although McRae struck several residences, according to a summary of police reports filed Tuesday with charges.

Police said they responded to Jelinek Place just after 6 p.m. Monday for shots being fired from a home. McRae, 69, fired at officers when they arrived and hit several homes, including a shot that went through her neighbor’s wall while the woman was in the home, the summary said.

The police department’s Mobile Response Team, which pairs an officer with a mental health clinician to respond to calls, had been interacting with McRae for several months, the summary said. She has called the police more than 300 times so far this year and allegedly threatened to shoot homeless encampments or homeless people in the area, according to the summary.

Police called a SWAT team to the home and eventually arrested McRae several hours later.

During an interview with detectives, McRae said he knew nothing about the shots being fired, the summary states. She told detectives she considered one of her neighbors her enemy because the neighbor helped homeless people in the area, according to the summary.

Police found “several firearms and ammunition (expended and unexpended)” in McRae’s home, the summary said. She also told the detective she had some rifles but denied having any handguns, it said.

McRae faces charges of felony misconduct involving a weapon, third-degree assault and one count of felony misconduct involving a weapon. She appeared in court Tuesday and was released from custody on $1,000 bond.

McRae could not immediately be reached Thursday and an attorney was not yet listed in court records for her.
