Calgary Shoots Cityscape Result of Road Rage: Police

Calgary police are looking for dash cam footage as they investigate a shooting in the Cityscape community believed to be the result of road rage.

Investigators say two vehicles were involved in a traffic “incident” near the intersection of Metis Trail and 80 Avenue NE shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6.

While police have not released details of what exactly happened, they say two men in a white Dodge Ram followed the victim home afterward.

The victim was driving with his family at the time.

Police say when he arrived at his home in the 10000 block of Cityscape Drive NE, the men allegedly pulled up next to his vehicle, pointed a gun and fired six shots into the air.

“After canvassing the area, investigators were unable to secure CCTV or dashcam quality footage of the suspects or the associated vehicle,” police said in a Thursday news release.

Specifically, investigators are looking for footage of the northbound Metis Trail NE between 80 Avenue and 104 Avenue NE — and the 10000 block of Cityscape Drive NE — between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 6.

“Our efforts to address gun violence rely on strong community support. If you have information that could assist an investigation, such as assisting with suspicious behavior or vehicles,” police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
