Edinburgh driver targeted by two men in attempted robbery

Police have launched an appeal after two men targeted a driver in an attempted robbery on Friday.

The pair approached the driver’s vehicle on Hailesland Road in Edinburgh at around 11pm on November 15.

They demanded money from the driver and threatened him. The men then got into a light-coloured car and drove down Murrayburn Road in the direction of Longstone Road.

The driver was not injured, but the car was damaged.

Detective Constable William Doughty said: “This has been a terrifying ordeal for the victim and we are carrying out extensive inquiries to identify the men responsible.

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, who witnessed the incident or noticed anything suspicious to come forward.

“Furthermore, we urge anyone who has CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage to review it and bring anything significant to our attention.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to get in touch 101, citation of the incident 4500 from November 15.
