Second owner files charges after 3 pit bull mixes attack man in Greer

GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg County officials say two dog owners have been charged after their dogs attacked and injured a man on Monday.

According to officials, an animal control officer with the Spartanburg Department of Environmental Protection Enforcement responded to Valentine Lane in Greer in reference to a dog attack.

The three dogs were pit bull mixes, an unaltered black and white pit bull mix, an unaltered gray and white pit bull mix and a black and dark brown female, attacked a man, officials said.

The man who was attacked was taken to Spartanburg Regional for his injuries. There’s no word on how he’s doing.

Officials said Angela Anderson, the owner of the unadulterated gray and white male pit bull mix, was charged with violating the local animal control ordinance.

On Wednesday, officials said the dog’s second owner, Jody Paradis, was located, served a warrant and charged with the following:

  • Owns and harbors a dangerous animal
  • (2 points) Allowing pets to run free
  • (2 points) Pets create a nuisance
  • Cruelty to animals

Officials said the animal cruelty charge located another dog at the scene and due to the conditions and lack of veterinary treatment that dog was not given.

The dogs were quarantined, officials said.
