In addition to Goran Vesić, Jelena Tanasković, Acting General Director of the Joint Stock Company “Railway Infrastructure of Serbia” and Anita Dimovski, Acting Deputy Minister for Railways and Intermodal Transport, were arrested due to the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad.

Jelena Tanasković, acting general director of the joint-stock company “Railway Infrastructure of Serbia”, resigned from this position yesterday.

Some time before Jelena Tanasković, Tomislav Momirović also submitted his resignation.

As a reminder, the Superior Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad announced that a total of 11 people were arrested and detained in connection with the tragedy in Novi Sad, when 15 people died and two were seriously injured during the fall of the canopy in Novi. Sad station.

“On the occasion of the tragic event that took place on November 1, 2024, in Novi Sad, when the canopy of the Novi Sad Station building collapsed, in which fifteen people lost their lives, and because of which the lives of two people are in danger due to the injuries suffered, the Superior Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad informs the public that, after the collection and detailed analysis of all necessary documentation, interviews with a large number of citizens, as well as following the expertise carried out to establish the cause and the circumstances in which he was, which was submitted to the prosecutor’s office on November 20, 2024, and familiarization with the findings and the expert opinion in the construction profession, by order of the Superior Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad, on the 21 November 2024, a total of eleven people were arrested and detained on suspicion. The detained suspects are: ​​JT, GV, AD and N.Š of committing the crime Serious crime against general safety in art. 288 para. 2 Criminal Code. the crime causing general danger from art. 278 para. 3 in relation to para. 2 of the Criminal Code, as well as the suspects: SN, MJ, Lj.MM, MS, DJ, MG and DT of committing the crime Serious crime against general safety from art. 288 paragraph 2 Criminal Code in relation to the crime Irregular execution and improper construction works from art. 281 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. For the mentioned criminal acts, the prison sentence is prescribed from 2 to 12 years”.
